The son of a Colorado Farmer. At the age of twenty one I joined the Navy and became a Weapons Control and Information Systems Engineer onboard fast attack submarines. There I traveled all over the Pacific and Indian Ocean visiting many countries and gaining wonderful experiences. Not only did I get the chance to see different countries, but I did a lot of traveling around The U.S. It was my goal to visit every state, and in 2004 I visited my last state Florida. Since retiring from the Navy I have worked as a Computer Engineer for various companies in Virginia where I live with my best friend and wife of fourteen years. (Just so you know, best friend and wife are the same person! lol) I have always had a passion for the written word. I love to read most anything, but commonly gravitate toward science fiction and fantasy.

We had a dog on the farm, a golden cocker named Puddles. The dog had gotten old and had been in many accidents. You see, he liked to chase mice. Puddles was one of the best mousers on the farm, including any of the twelve cats we had. He would trail behind the tractor, and as the plow would dig up the field mice Puddles would catch them. This would occasionally place him in front of the tractor at the wrong time. By the time Puddles was fifteen years old he had been run over twelve times. Even then, one of his favorite pastimes was to wander a good distance away from the house, keeping a keen eye on a pack of coyotes just in the distance. He would limp around, sniff at the flowers and pretend that the coyotes were nowhere in his world. The coyotes thinking they had an easy snack, would start to circle around Puddles. Just one second before the coyotes would have had the old dog cut off from the house, Puddles would come trotting back into the yard. He’d sit on the porch until the pack would give up to find a better kill. When the coyotes got some distance from the house, off he went to sniff the flowers again. We would watch that ornery dog tease the coyotes all day long, never did they get the best of him.
